A Glimpse of Hope

What does a restful night sleep with only one wake up do for this momma?
Wonders!
1) Happy Momma
2) Happy Kids: Ailish's smile and laughter combined with mine while making orange cream cupcakes were priceless. She even help crack an egg and then licked her fingers.
3) A quick moving momma: I don't think I have gotten ready as quick as I did this morning since college.
4) Willing to do things to help out.
5)  A more patient momma: Ailish's adorable wardrobe change was as followed- Lavender no sleeve long flow dress with my silver shiny head band worn hippy style with pink boots;

I interrupt my current blogging to say Will saw a bear asleep on top of a dead walrus.

5) Next was Ailish wearing a purple tutu leotard to dance. A fourth of July dress; her too small beach cover dress and for going outside she put her Oshkosh Girl skinny jeans on with lady bug socks purple Keens sneakers, a red coat, and a pink crochet hat with a pink flower on it.
6) Special moments at the play ground swinging together. Ailish on her tummy and Mommy with Ian snuggled in the Ergo. Ian laughed. Ailish taking turns with the neighborhood kids on the swing. Watching Ailish go down the slides and get excited to climb back up the stairs for more.
7) Opening a package from Grandma and Papa Smith full of clothes and shoes for Ailish. Shen then modeled her new pink and grey with silver glitter love hooded long sleeve shirt with her new glittery pink boots. Then the colorful hearts shirt and ended with cupcake pajamas. Thats my cupcake girl. Sweet and happy.
8) Only one cup of coffee that I didn't need until 12:30 something in the afternoon (to avoid caffeine headaches).
9) Talking to grandparents via phone and Skype. Ailish really talks to Grams.
10) Ian's laughter and non stop movement.
11) Reading Bible stories and watching Doc Mc'Stuffins (Ailish's favorite right now).
12) Singing and hearing Ailish sing a long saying, "New Day" and another song she says "Hallelujah!" Its adorable to hear!
13) Less "Bobby" talk today. She is standing up to "Bobby" and saying, "No! No Bobby!" and I say, "Go away Bobby. Please leave Ailish alone Bobby. " Ailish then laughs.
14). Ailish asking to sleep with her "Bible" aka Toddler devotional.
15) Sweet Babes sleeping in the same room.
May we all be blessed by the little precious moments of life and restful sleep.
Goodnight.

Dark, Cold, and Teething

Normally I would apologize for not updating our blog more frequently. However, I have come to the conclusion that it is just not realistic for a mother of a toddler and a baby who live in  a "remote island" as Jeff Corwin stated in a recent episode. It (blogging mom's) may be for the majority who have children who love sleep and don't make a peep when teething. Or even those who have babysitters near by. Not me. My littlest love gets up five time a night because of teething and I am his source of food comfort. My little love is afraid of the dark and ends up playing soccer in her sleep and I am the ball. Not ideal, but most effective for any sleep to be had. And if I hear one more time "The Bobby!" I think I will scream! Let me take the next paragraph to explain.

It all started the evening we went to our friends house for dinner. Their 3 year old son loves Monsters Inc. and he was all excited to watch his new movie. I didn't really think much of it when the mom put it into the dvd player. Until Ailish covered her face and began to freak out "Ahh ahh ahh!" Bless her heart when we left, it was dark outside and she would not uncover her face. She was traumatized. Please know our friends took the movie out immediately and their son now tells his mommy, "No scary movie for Ailish. Put on something sweet." Fast forward a day or week when Will took Ailish to the ice cream parlor where she met Bobby. An old man with down syndrome. Apparently, Ailish relates his name with fear. We have explained over and over again that he can't get her and he is a nice man who is just made different and he doesn't want to hurt her etc etc. But all I hear every night and now day whenever she hears a noise or thinks she sees something that scares her I hear, "The Bobby!" She then begins to cling to my leg or my body with a death grip and buries her face. This is most fun when trying to walk or changing Ian's diapers or clothes. I must confess I am tired of explaining that I understand she is afraid, I am here for her, Jesus is watching over her, she is safe. and I am VERY tired of hearing Bobby, Hat (Bobby where's a hat as of yesterday). I REALLY want to help her, I just don't know what else to do. Sometimes I think he is her imaginary friend to drive mommy crazy to make Ailish laugh, only because she pointed at a joker and said, "Bobby." I asked if that was Bobby and she said, "Yes." and I threw the joker card into the trash and she went back for it. Seriously? Then she pointed at a clown in one of her books and said he was Bobby. However, when Ian began to freak out and cry because he was hungry. Ailish buried her face into my lap saying "The Bobby, me." No, sweet Ailish, Ian is just crying because he is hungry and now he can't get to his food source because you are in  my lap.

Dear Lord, Please help me. I have six more days until Will returns from Cold Bay. I am awfully cold and tired without him. Please bring him back to me and our children safely. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Quick developmental updates: Ian has 6 teeth and 2 more on the way. He is also walking a few steps falling and walking a few more etc. Ailish likes the song, "This Little Light of Mine" and holds her pointer finger up and does the motions and blows the candle out and says, "No!" She also talks in her sleep ("Mine!" and "This") and her hair is almost to her waist. Ailish loves to push Ian in the swings at the park and thankfully, Ian loves it too.
