That is write ladies and gentlemen, this momma is thirty! Yikes! Where has the time gone? Lets recap the last week.
Will went deer hunting on Monday with a friend from church. He came back with half a deer and a trip to get stitch. I'm just thankful he made it back. Apparently, he could have fell off the four wheeler trail when stuck on a rock with a 200 foot drop on one side.
We celebrated four wonderful years of marriage by going out to breakfast with our darling children. Ailish likes to point at pictured mermaids there and say, "Mommy!" and the pictured fisherman, "Daddy!"
Ian has snuggled me the last two nights for comfort, thanks to teething. However, there was something so sweet and special about last nights snuggles and him reclining on the couch watching a Hallmark movie with me until he fell asleep. I did try to block his view but then he would cry. I love those moments when I am awake in knowing I love my job as mommy.
I must admit I was dreading today because I can no longer say I am in my 20's. Hello 30! Thankfully, I woke with a skip in my step and a smile on my face. Will noticed and appreciated it which made me think, "How many mornings have I woke up grouchy?" I don't really want to know! I just want to make a change. With Ian snuggled to me on the couch and Ailish waking up running toward me with a smile and anticipating a good morning hug and kiss. It was great! She crawled up on the couch too and we watched part of a Hallmark movie. Then upon request I made her "Tea" which is actually a very deluded latte. Blueberry pancakes and bacon. Will came out wondering why I was doing all this on my birthday. Well, love, because I love you and wanted you to sleep since you work nights. Also because yesterday was our Anniversary and we didn't have our pancakes yesterday. Then I excused myself to capture the sunrise taking my protege with me (Ailish). She is becoming quite the photographer at age 2. We had fun taking pictures of the sunrise and us together. As well as the H-60 and C130 taking off. Special indeed to have happy times with my girl! Next on the agenda after breakfast was a treat for more coffee! Love having a"Bob Marley" White Mocha with whip cream from Harborside. I then made a hair appointment for Wednesday. I will leave the style up to the stylist! Daring, I know. Will then made homemade gluten-free calazones for my birthday and then some orange sherbet vanilla ice cream for dessert (not homemade). The day was also filled with tea parties, duck duck goose, dance party in the kids room, the playground, and Ian standing up on his own and truly a walker now. Turning 30 wasn't that bad after all. It was great!
Disclaimer: Will got a whole deer, but shared the meat with his friend due to an unfortunate event of wrong size bullets sold to Will causing a buck loss (buck lived). So our friend let him take the next shot with his gun. Will injured himself while throwing the fat out. As soon as he walked in the door I could tell he was in pain. He went to medical and received 3 stitches. Will's wrist is healing up nicely despite the bruising. We will be going on an actual date for our anniversary tomorrow.
Ailish's new words/sayings/noises: Candle, Handle, Pants, Paint, Brush, snorts like a pig, sounds like a monkey, Is baby all done? You all done? Is baby done eating? I want eat! Water. Papa. I want Papa (wish I knew which one she meant)!
Ailish and Ian laughing at each other and Ian picking on Ailish in the race car grocery cart.
